Installation & Requirements
The unit is specified for 115 V, 60 Hz, single-phase electrical service, draws 2.8 A and has a NEMA 5-15P plug. The manual advises checking the equipment label against the available supply and ensuring the supply has suitable protection, such as a protective device or automatic circuit protection. It also cautions against covering the equipment label.
Position the cabinet on a flat surface in a location that permits use and maintenance. The manual calls for free air circulation around the condensing unit and warns that restricted airflow can affect cabinet operation. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources, direct sunlight and draughts; do not install it outdoors, where it is exposed to rain, or in an explosive environment. If the equipment has been positioned horizontally, the manual says to wait two hours before activating it. Remove the protective film and transit materials after unpacking, and dispose of packaging according to local requirements.
The manual gives an operating ambient range of +10°C to +40°C and relative humidity within 55%. It does not provide a specific clearance measurement. It also cautions against moving the cabinet by pressing on its surface and says to lift it from the exterior of the base.
Operation
Connect the unit to power and adjust the thermostat. Before loading food, allow the cabinet to reach the desired operating temperature shown on the digital display. The manual advises against putting uncovered hot food or liquids inside, and recommends packaging or protecting food where possible. Avoid obstructing internal air circulation with excess items, and avoid frequent or prolonged door openings.
During loading, open and fill one drawer at a time where applicable, and wait briefly before reopening a door or drawer just after it has been closed. The manual describes an automatic defrost timer that operates four times in 24 hours and resets to the time of the initial first start-up.
Cleaning & Maintenance
For initial cleaning, the manual recommends cleaning the cabinet’s internal parts and walls with an antibacterial detergent, using a damp cloth on plastic parts, then drying with a soft, clean cloth. Use little or no water. Do not use harsh or abrasive solvents or detergents. Wear protective gloves when cleaning and avoid touching parts that could cut, including the evaporator and condenser.
For routine hygiene, clean the internal basin at least once a week. Switch off and disconnect power before cleaning. For improved performance, clean the condenser at least once a month. Before cleaning it, switch off the equipment and disconnect the plug. Remove the protective grille, brush away dust from the front surface of the condenser and use a vacuum cleaner to collect it, then restore the grille and previous condition.
For an extended period out of use, remove products, unplug the cabinet and clean it as described for periodic cleaning. Cover it with a cloth that allows air to circulate inside.
Troubleshooting
If the cabinet does not operate, check that the plug is correctly inserted into the socket and that the supply cord is not damaged. If the required temperature is not reached, check that the control switch is on and the thermostat range is set correctly. The manual also advises checking that the cabinet is not in a defrost or post-defrost phase, that the evaporator is not covered with frost, and that the condenser is not blocked with dust. Confirm that the cabinet is away from heat sources and that air can circulate around the condensing unit.
Applications
The MGF8403 suits commercial kitchens that need refrigerated ingredients or prepared items close to a work counter. Its undercounter layout can support day-to-day storage for food preparation, service and cold-dish work while keeping refrigerated contents within reach of the kitchen team.
