About the Champion UH130B
Overview
The Champion UH130B is a high-temperature commercial undercounter dishwasher for kitchens that need rack washing in a compact footprint. It can wash up to 25 racks per hour with a 141-second total cycle. Its built-in electric booster supports a 180°F final rinse, and Rinse Sentry extends the cycle when needed to help ensure that rinse temperature is reached.
The cabinet measures 24 inches wide by 25 inches deep by 33 3/4 inches high. A 15 3/4-inch door opening accommodates larger wares, including trays. The double-wall construction has stainless steel top and side panels. A 1 HP wash pump, detergent and rinse-aid pumps, and a pumped drain are built into the machine. The UH130B includes one peg rack and one flat rack.
Key Features
- High-temperature sanitizing: The specification sheet lists a 150°F wash temperature and a 180°F final-rinse temperature. The built-in booster is specified for a 70°F/39°C rise in the listed standard configuration; the manual also describes booster configurations for a 40°F/22°C rise.
- Rinse Sentry: Extends cycle time to ensure the 180°F final rinse.
- Wash Refresh: Automatically drains water for the next cycle, helping ensure heavily soiled items are washed with new water.
- StemsSure soft start: Soft-start operation helps protect glasses and dishes from chipping or breaking due to sudden water-pressure changes.
- Shear Energy: A named feature described by the manufacturer as reducing energy requirements while maintaining performance.
- Controls and monitoring: Top-mounted controls include a prime switch, with digital temperature monitoring.
- Automatic fill and drain: The machine has automatic tank fill, fill-and-dump operation and a pumped drain.
- Protection and access: A door safety switch checks proper closure, and low-water tank heat protection helps prevent heater operation when water is low.
- Commercial construction: Double-wall construction is described as quiet; stainless steel top and side panels are specified.
- Listings: The product listing identifies NSF certification and cETLus listing.

Installation & Requirements
Placement and clearances
The manual describes under-counter or free-standing placement and provides a 2-inch minimum clearance to the back wall. It gives a front-to-back dimension of 42 3/8 inches with the door open. Check the available space against the closed dimensions as well as the open-door dimension before positioning the machine. The machine has adjustable feet for levelling; the manual directs installers to level it front-to-back and side-to-side. Allow access to the chemical supply containers beneath the counter and keep them on the floor rather than elevating them.
Electrical supply
Electrical connections must match the machine’s data plate. The installation manual says the UH130B is shipped wired for single-phase operation unless otherwise specified. Single-phase connection requires a 3-wire-plus-ground supply, including a current-carrying neutral; the manual instructs installers not to connect power to L3 on a single-phase UH130B. Three-phase connection requires a 4-wire-plus-ground supply, also including a current-carrying neutral. If converting the machine from single phase to three phase, follow the manual’s booster-wiring instructions and change the data plate as directed. The manual calls for qualified personnel to make utility connections in accordance with applicable plumbing, sanitary and electrical codes.
Water and drain connections
The manual specifies a 6-foot flexible hot-water fill hose with a 3/4-inch female garden-hose connector, a main supply line of 1/2 inch or larger, and a nearby 1/2-inch-or-larger shut-off valve. For the 70°F/39°C rise booster, minimum incoming hot-water temperature is 110°F at the dishwasher; for the 40°F/22°C rise booster, it is 140°F. Flowing water pressure must be between 25 and 95 psi. Water hardness of 3 grains per U.S. gallon or less is recommended. The installer must flush the supply line before connecting it to the machine.
The supplied drain hose is 5/8 inch inside diameter and 6 feet long. Maximum drain height is 3 feet, and maximum drain flow is 15 U.S. gallons per minute. The manual says the hose must retain its anti-siphoning loop and must not be kinked, extended or connected to a disposer. It also says not to remove the hose clamps that hold the drain hose in its installed routing. Plumbing must comply with applicable national, provincial and local codes; the manual specifies qualified service personnel familiar with food-service equipment for installation.
Operation
The UH130B runs a 141-second cycle: 90 seconds of washing, 26 seconds of rinsing and 25 seconds for drain and fill. At the stated capacity, it processes up to 25 racks per hour. Wash Refresh automatically drains the water for the next cycle. Rinse Sentry can extend the cycle to ensure the 180°F final rinse. Digital temperature monitoring displays operating temperatures, while the prime switch is located on the top-mounted control panel.
To drain the UH130B, the manual directs the operator to push the illuminated power switch down to the OFF/DRAIN position. The power-switch light goes out, the cycle light illuminates while the machine drains, and the cycle light goes out when draining is complete. The manual says the machine flushes, performs three short drain cycles and then drains completely. Do not open the door until the cycle light goes out.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The manual instructs operators to drain and clean the dishwasher every two hours of continuous operation, after each meal period and at the end of the day. For the UH130B cleaning procedure, remove the upper and lower spray arms and flush them clean in a sink. Remove the scrap screen carefully so debris does not fall from it into the wash tank or sump, then flush it clean. The manual warns not to use metallic scrub pads and not to spray the machine’s exterior with water.
The manual’s weekly upkeep guidance for the UH130B model group includes cleaning accumulated lime deposits from the wash-tank heating element and checking that the flexible water-fill and drain hoses are not kinked. It also advises inspecting the water lines and the area beneath the dishwasher for leaks, checking that the machine is level, inspecting the scrap screen for damage, and checking spray arms for damage. Monthly guidance includes cleaning the chemical dispenser pick-up tubing: remove the tubes from their chemical containers, place each in a separate container of hot water, press and hold the PRIME buttons until water flows into the wash-tank compartment, return the tubes to their containers and prime the chemical lines. The manual states that the dishwasher has no lubrication points.
Troubleshooting
The manual identifies improper drain-hose installation as a common source of draining problems. The hose’s installed loop and clamps must not be changed: altering the routing can prevent proper draining or cause water to siphon out of the machine. Check that the hose is not kinked, extended or connected to a disposer, and that it has not been routed contrary to the manual. The manual also cautions that improper drain installation may affect warranty coverage for drain problems.
Applications
The UH130B suits commercial kitchens that need an undercounter machine for recurring loads of dish racks, glassware and larger wares such as trays. Its 15 3/4-inch opening, included peg and flat racks, high-temperature final rinse and stated capacity of 25 racks per hour make it relevant to compact dish areas in restaurants, cafés, bars and institutional food-service kitchens. Confirm that the opening, available space, electrical service and incoming hot-water temperature suit the wares and site before purchase.
