Operation

In normal use, an operator selects or searches for a product record, places the product on the platter and uses the scale’s weight reading to calculate a price from the stored PLU. The scale prints a label through its linerless cassette, and the automatic cutter separates the printed label. The two weight ranges apply different graduations: 0.005 lb for weights from 0 to 12 lb and 0.01 lb from 12 to 30 lb.

Operators can search by product description, keyword or PLU number, and use best-seller keys or category-based flashkeys to access frequently used items. The interface supports fixed-weight, by-count, random-weight and fluid-ounce product types. Operator login can be required, and operator changes can be tracked. Product, operator and recipe notes, as well as shelf-life information, can also be used in scale records.

The scale supports UPC, EAN 13, EAN 128 and GS1 DataBar barcodes. Country of origin labeling can be created or modified on the unit. The display system can show video independently on operator and customer screens, and on-screen help includes an operator manual and tutorial videos.
