FP200

Overview

The Hobart FP200 is a high-volume continuous-feed commercial food processor built by Hobart Corporation of Troy, Ohio. Hobart's replacement-parts catalog for the model carries reference ML-103095 and was issued as Form 17782 (Rev. A, dated 10-90), with the main parts illustration numbered PL-50244 and a separate illustration, PL-21248, covering the FP200 feed heads.

The FP200 has a well-documented service history in institutional foodservice. Omaha Public Schools offered a "Hobart Model FP200 High-Volume Continuous-Feed Commercial Food Processor" through a Nutrition Services surplus auction, and a published food-science study on pre-drying steps, cadmium and pesticide residues used an FP200 — identified there as a Hobart slicer, Hobart Corp., Troy, OH — to shred lettuce for analysis. Installation & Requirements

The parts catalog documents two supply configurations for the FP200. The single-phase build runs a 1 Ph, 60 Hz motor with 110 V control components: a 110 V contactor, a 110 V RC circuit, a 110 V overload relay and a 110 V motor capacitor seated in a gasket. The three-phase build uses a 220 V, 60 Hz, 3 Ph motor with a 230 V contactor, a 220 V RC circuit, a 220 V overload relay, a 220 V motor capacitor, a 220 V motor plate and a 220 V motor pulley; the catalog groups these 220 V, 3-phase service components in their own section. Because every control component is voltage-specific, replacement electrical parts must match the build on the machine.

Operation

As a continuous-feed machine, the FP200 takes product through its feed head for ongoing processing rather than batch work in a bowl, which is why it suited high-volume vegetable prep in school nutrition service. Cutting performance comes from the interchangeable plate assemblies documented in the catalog:

• Slicer assemblies: the 1/16 and 3/32 fine slicer plate assemblies each include items 1 and 3.
• Julienne assemblies: the 3/32 assembly includes items 28, 29, 38 and 39; the 3/16 assembly includes items 25, 30, 35 and 39; the 7/32 assembly includes items 26, 30, 36 and 39; and the 5/16 assembly includes items 27, 30, 37 and 39.
• Shredder and grater assemblies: each combines the insert — 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 5/16 or 7/32 shredder, or the fine grater — with the correct frame and shared mounting hardware. One frame covers the 1/16 through 7/32 inserts; the 5/16 insert uses its own frame.

On the drive side, the motor turns a poly V-belt that drives the knife-shaft pulley; the belt, both pulleys, the shaft key and the set screw are all catalog replacement parts, as are the fan, bearing washer and cup spring.
