About the Atosa AWC0608-TF
Overview
The Atosa AWC0608-TF is an indoor walk-in cooler in a nominal 6' x 8' size. It provides a dedicated refrigerated space for commercial food storage, with a reinforced floor and a top-mounted, drop-in refrigeration system. The manufacturer lists a holding range of 35°F–38°F. The cabinet is assembled from foamed-in-place panels joined with cam locks.
For planning the space, the cabinet exterior measures 72" x 96" x 91", while the interior measures 64" x 88" x 82". With the condensing unit installed, the listed overall dimensions are 72" x 96" x 117". The manufacturer recommends an 11' ceiling height for the top-mounted system.
Key Features
- Insulated enclosure: 4" foamed-in-place panels with cam locks, and white interior and exterior.
- Refrigeration: Top-mounted, drop-in system with a low-noise level, a two-motor evaporating unit and a 1.5 HP condensing unit.
- Access: A 36" door with heated frame, diamond tread kick plates, three spring-loaded heavy-duty Kason hinges, a heavy-duty Kason closer, and a Kason handle with a lock and inside safety release.
- Floor and entry: Reinforced floor and a standard exterior ramp measuring 34 1/2" x 27 1/2".

Installation & Requirements
Planning the location
The installation manual calls for at least 2" of clearance around the exterior of the panels for airflow. Allow space for the door swing and heated pressure relief. The manual also specifies that indoor walk-ins must be in an environmentally controlled space, with relative humidity kept between 30% and 60% and a dew point of 50°F or less.
Prepare a firm, level and smooth surface for the walk-in. The manual notes that level installation is important to door self-closing, gasket sealing and condensation removal. Before assembling the panels, confirm that there is enough space for the unit and separate the labeled panels by group. The panels are joined at their vertical joints with section latches operated using the supplied hex wrench; the manual specifies turning the wrench counterclockwise to engage the latches. Follow the model floor plan and panel labels during assembly.
Refrigeration unit location and connections
The refrigeration installation manual gives an outdoor ambient operating range of 5°F–113°F for the condensing unit. It calls for a well-ventilated location with unobstructed exhaust, away from strong heat sources, other equipment exhaust, strong steam and flammable gas. The location should remain accessible for operation and maintenance, and the unit should not be buried in snow or exposed to garbage or oil mist. The manual also advises against placing it in direct headwind on a roof or in the path of strong air outlets at ground level.
The factory instructions identify the evaporating unit as ATWET02A and the condensing unit as ATW-R15V, rated at 1.5 HP. The supplied suction and discharge tubes connect the two units: the insulated 5/8" tube marked L2 connects to the large evaporator valve, and the uninsulated 3/8" tube marked H2 connects to the small valve. The manual says the units are factory-charged with R404A and do not require field evacuation and charging.
For electrical connection, the manual states that the main power supply wires are not provided by the factory. It directs the installer to connect the supply wires to L1 and L2 and connect the ground wire to the ground connector. The product specification lists 208–240 V, 60 Hz, single phase, 12 A rated current and a 30 A breaker.
Operation
The specification sheet recommends setting the refrigerator between 35°F and 38°F for food preservation. The refrigeration controller table in the manual lists cooler defaults of 39°F for compressor start and 33°F for compressor stop. Other listed cooler controller values include a 55°F defrost termination temperature, a 5-minute drip time, interval defrost mode and a 4-hour interval between defrost cycles. The table also lists a defrost temperature sensor and a fan setting that turns the evaporator fans off during defrost and delays them after defrost. These are controller parameters, not a replacement for the product’s stated 35°F–38°F storage recommendation.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The specification sheet instructs operators to clean the condenser frequently so it can receive fresh air. It does not give a fixed cleaning interval. The refrigeration manual advises locating the condensing unit where it is convenient to access for maintenance and where its exhaust can move freely.
Applications
The AWC0608-TF suits commercial foodservice operations that need walk-in refrigerated storage. The refrigeration manual describes preservation uses that include fruit, meat and vegetables. Its walk-in format can also serve as a dedicated cooler space in a restaurant kitchen or other commercial food operation.
