Installation & Requirements
The common tank drain uses one connection to the floor drain and can be connected at either end; the opposite end is plugged. The manual specifies a 2-inch NPT drain connection through a trap to the sewer. CL-DWR and CL-ADV factory drain plumbing may need to be relocated to the opposite side of the drain body. If a grease trap is required by code, the manual specifies a minimum flow capacity of 38 gallons per minute.
The spec sheet lists a single-point electrical connection as standard. The provided CL66-ADV information does not give a voltage or amperage table. Plumbing and electrical connections should be made by qualified personnel, as stated in the manual. The machine includes vent fan control; stainless steel vent hoods are listed as optional accessories. The provided CL66-ADV electric specifications do not give a hood airflow requirement. Gas connection instructions for other CL configurations do not apply to this electric model.
Operation
Before operation, the manual says to make sure the dishwasher is clean and all parts are in place. If equipped with a scrapper, install its standpipe in the first tank where the rack enters the machine, then install the rear and side strainer pans and lower the scrap basket. Fit the upper and lower wash arms in the scrapper with their sliders closed, seating each arm on its connector pipe and guide.
For the wash and rinse tanks, install the applicable standpipe or standpipes, strainer pan and scrap basket, then fit the upper and lower wash arms with their sliders closed. The touchscreen provides machine controls, diagnostics and troubleshooting. The energy-saver mode can be programmed for automatic shutdown; press WASH on the human-machine interface to resume operation if the machine is in that mode.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The manual's preparation instructions call for starting with a clean machine and confirming that its components are in place. Check that standpipes, strainer pans, scrap baskets and wash arms are fitted in their assigned positions; wash-arm sliders should be closed. The manual also identifies wash-arm nozzle obstructions, open wash-arm sliders, drain obstructions, worn or torn drain O-rings and worn or torn manifold O-rings as possible causes of poor cleaning.
For a suspected pump obstruction, the manual instructs operators to disconnect electrical power and follow lockout/tagout procedures before checking the pump intake. It warns that there may be multiple circuits. Drain the tank or tanks before checking for an obstruction at the pump intake. The supplied manual excerpt does not specify a routine cleaning interval.
Troubleshooting
Machine does not operate
The manual lists a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, an open inspection door, a jammed conveyor, an auto-timer timeout, a tripped table limit switch, or Energy Saver Mode as possible causes. Close the inspection doors, check whether the conveyor is jammed, and press START or insert a rack if the auto-timer has timed out. If Energy Saver Mode is active, press WASH on the display to resume.
Dishes are not clean
Listed possible causes include insufficient wash water, a drain obstruction causing an open-drain condition, a worn or torn drain O-ring, open wash-arm sliders, a blocked wash-arm nozzle, a worn or torn manifold O-ring, pump-intake obstruction and incorrect water temperature. The manual says to check the electric heat supply circuit breaker when investigating incorrect water temperature on an electric-heated machine. Disconnect power and use lockout/tagout procedures before inspecting the pump intake.
Fill and water-level errors
For error 018, the wash-tank water level is too high: check the drain for obstructions and drain the machine. For errors 020 and 023, the tank did not fill or its water level did not rise within the expected time. Confirm that the drain is closed, the incoming water supply is on and the fill hose is not kinked; the manual gives a water-pressure check range of 20–65 psi. Drain the machine and try filling again where directed. Contact Hobart Service if the error persists.
Temperature, sensor and heater errors
For errors 083 and 084, the final-rinse temperature did not reach the minimum within the set time; clear the error using the display as directed, and contact Hobart Service if it persists. Errors 085 and 086 indicate a wash-tank or booster overtemperature trip; the manual says to contact service. Errors 016 and 017 report a wash-tank pressure-sensor failure, while errors 094 and 095 report a power-rinse tank pressure-sensor failure; the manual directs operators to contact service. Errors 100 and 101 indicate a power-rinse temperature-sensor failure. Errors 102 and 103 concern the drain-water-tempering temperature sensor; if the DWT assembly is not installed, the manual says to disable DWT in the manager menu.
For errors 088 and 089, the manual reports a wash-tank or booster contactor error: the heater remains on despite the software command to turn it off. Turn off the machine circuit breaker or breakers, do not drain the machine, and contact service.
Applications
The CL66-ADV is suited to commercial kitchens that process racks continuously and need conveyor capacity for dishes, cookware or sheet pans. Its rated throughput, scrapper and automatic soil removal support busy dishroom workflows, while the chamber opening accommodates sheet pans on an open-end sheet pan rack. The configurable pot-and-pan cycle provides an additional wash option for suitable cookware.
